Future of Health and Wellbeing

This track will ask participants to consider: How are science centers engaging the public in advances in health research and in our expanded view of what we know about ourselves, our health, our behavior, our brains, and our microbiomes? How can effective science communication techniques better involve and prepare patients and patient advocates? Can science centers serve as a bridge between rural and urban populations, and foster connections between the public and the public-health systems, especially on issues related to ethics and values, or requiring behavior change and insights from the social sciences? How can science centers serve as collaborative hubs that bring together the various sectors impacting wellbeing in their communities and to address inequities and find solutions?  How can science centers lead community dialogues on global and local public health issues and help policymakers understand the interdependent issues in our global wellbeing?
